To continue with its friendship with Nigeria, through culture, the Korean Cultural Centre in Nigeria celebrates its film festival, an event that comes up on Tuesday 27th to Friday 30th November, 2012, the third in the series.
Some of the films that will be screened during the occasion, tagged, 3rd Korean Film Festival 2012, are Barefoot Dream (Tuesday 27th), Scandal Makers (Wednesday 28th), Like A Virgin (Thursday 29th), and Detective K: Secret of Virtuous Widow (Friday 30th).
Barefoot Dream is about Workang, a footballer whose life did not turn out quite promising; Scandal Makers dramatizes NAM Hyn-soo, a popular idol star among teenagers, worshipped like a god; Like A Virgin showcases the story of OH Dong-gu, a young man, who believes himself to be a female and mimics Madonna’s songs; and Detective K: Secret of Virtuous Widow tells the story of King Jeong-jos and his reign of 26 years with a series of murders in the capital of Joseon.
The opening ceremony on Tuesday, 27th November, 2012, will be graced by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Korea, Mr. Jong-hyun Choi, at the Silver Bird Galleria, Plot 1161, Memorial Drive, by Shehu Yar’Adua Centre, Central Business District, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
