altThe Examinations Board of the Training School of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), in a meeting, which took place at the Training School Complex, National Theatre Annex, Iganmu, Lagos, has approved results for the 2011/2012 Academic Session.

At the meeting, which was chaired by the Executive Secretary, Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, there was cross-examination of the 1st and 2nd Semester Results for both the Diploma in Cultural Administration (DCA) and Postgraduate Diploma in Cultural Administration (PGDCA), by the Board, as presented by the Exams and Records Unit.

Expressing satisfaction with the Training School for prompt release of the results, in line with his earlier directive, the ES noted that he was confident that the next Academic Session, which will commence in February 2013, will witness the maiden matriculation and convocation ceremonies of the Training School, in addition to other scholarly programmes like the Annual Public Lecture, Quarterly National Workshop on Repositioning of Nigerian Cultural Workers, and the Nigerian Indigenous Language Programme (NILP).

According to the NICO Chief Executive, attending the Training School will be an added advantage for members of staff of this Institute, as it will avail them the opportunity to be abreast of global best practices in modern cultural administration as well as being a pre-requisite for confirmation and promotion, rather than the conventional examination approach.

It will be recalled that in the just concluded Academic Session, 75 students were admitted into the Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma programmes in Cultural Administration, out of which 53 students did the PGDCA, while 22 students studied DCA.   Application Forms for the 2012/2013 Academic Session could be downloaded from the Institute’s website: www.nico.gov.ng, or obtained at NICO’s Offices in Abuja, Lagos, Akure, Ilorin, Katsina, Owerri, Yenagoa and Yola.
