The Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, has approved the deployment of four officers of the Institute to coordinate the newly activated NICO State offices in Enugu, Gombe, Oyo and Niger States, saying with the creation of additional four offices to the existing operation structure, the Institute has entered into its next phase of decentralization.

Addressing the officers, Ayakoroma charged them to see their deployment to head the state offices as a challenge that will enable them realize their managerial potentials, saying, “As the flag-bearers of NICO in the various states, you are expected to ensure that you effect the cultural orientation mandate of the Institute. We believe that your presence in the states will help the governments of the states to realize the importance of NICO. How you liaise with the state governments will determine the success of NICO programmes in the various states.”
He maintained that although the Institute has made meaningful impact in the past years, through its zonal structure, the state offices are expected to further spread the NICO story, in order to make it a household name, where people will get to know more about the Institute and appreciate its relevance at the grassroots.
