In continuation of the mandate of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) to harness culture for national development, the Coordinator of NICO Minna State Office, Mrs. Olufunke Ndukwe, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner, Niger State Ministry of Youth Development, Hon. Kabiru Wushishi.
Receiving the State Coordinator and her team, Hon. Kabiru Wushishi, expressed his happiness on the visit and said he had embraced all NICO programmes, promising that his Ministry and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will collaborate with NICO Minna Office on programmes that will develop the total well-being of the youths.
He placed emphases on the strategic nature of the Indigenous Language programme of the Institute, saying that his Ministry will
sponsor some youths so that they could read, write and speak their local languages.
Earlier, the NICO State Coordinator, Mrs. Olufunke Ndukwe, had said the Ministry was very strategic for actualizing the 2013 World Day for Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development’s Celebration in the State and appreciated the efforts of the Honourable Commissioners in advancing the course of Culture in Niger State and beyond.
