Plans have been concluded for the Management of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) to conduct the 2015 promotion examination exercise for staffers due for promotion.
The exercise, which is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 29th January, 2015 at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN), located along the Kubwa Express Way in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is expected to have candidates from the Institute’s head office in Abuja, zonal and state offices, as well as the Lagos Liaison office participating.
In all, one hundred and thirty one (131) senior staffers are scheduled for the exercise while the number of junior staffers stands at nineteen (19), bringing the total number of candidates expected to participate in the exercise to one hundred and fifty (150).
Also in line with the Institute’s policy that staffers who have attended NICO Training School, having successfully undergone the one year diploma or postgraduate diploma programme in Cultural Administration automatically meets the requirements for promotion to the next level, one hundred and twenty six (126) staffers in the senior cadre have been exempted from participating in the exercise with two (2) staffers from the junior cadre also exempted, bringing the total number of exempted staffers to one hundred and twenty eight (128).
All things been equal, it is expected that at the end of the exercise, one officer will be promoted to a the position of a Deputy Director, Six (6) officers promoted to Assistant Directors, Two (2) officers promoted to Chief Cultural Officers, Four (4) officers promoted to Assistant Chief Cultural Officers, Nine (9) officers promoted to Principal Cultural Officers, Ninety-Six (96) officers promoted to Senior Cultural Officers, One Hundred and Twenty Five (125) officers promoted to Cultural Officer’s I and Nineteen (19) officers promoted to Higher Executive Officers, respectively.
