The new NICO South-South Zonal Director, Mr. Nelson Ebi Campbell has stated that he will use his connections in Bayelsa State to move NICO South-South Zonal Office forward, emphasizing that, change always comes with new things; therefore, the change has come with new approach to work for improved job performance and service delivery.

Campbell stated this at a handing over ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, 18th August, 2015 at NICO South-South Zonal Office complex, located at No. 51, Imgbi Road, Amarata, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, where he formally assumed office as the Zonal Director of NICO South-South Zonal Office.

The new Zonal Director assured staffers of the zone that he had come to work and would therefore expect everybody to do same, advising them to be loyal to the organization and be ready to work effectively with him.

He charged them to come up with ideas that will benefit the Institute, promising that very soon he will visit the Vice-Chancellor of Niger Delta University, the Provost, College of Education Sagbama, Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Ministry of Culture and Ijaw National Affairs, Ministry of Education and media outfits in the State to discuss possible areas of partnership with them.

handover1Also addressing staffers at the event, the former Zonal Coordinator, Mr. James Imohiosen, who has been transferred to NICO South-West Zonal Office in Akure, Ondo State, thanked the new Zonal Director, whom he noted, has been his boss, and also staffers of the Zone for the overwhelming support they gave him, adding that he would not have recorded as much success but for their support.

He charged staff members to give his successor the same level of support, just as they should be dedicated to duty, hardworking and display unalloyed loyalty to enable them work effectively, noting that, the new Zonal Director is a good man and warned staff not to push him to the wall through unhealthy attitudes that could make him react otherwise.

He then said: “I hand you over staff of NICO South-South Zonal Office. Please, take them and handle them like your children;” further pleading with Mr. Campbell to always use his wealth of experience, position and connections in Bayelsa State to the advantage of the Institute.

The Head of Admin and Human Resources in the South-South Zonal Office, Mr. Ebi Asene presented a gift item to the outgoing Zonal Coordinator, on behalf of staffers of the zone.
