Two former Zonal Coordinators of NICO South-South Zonal Office, Messrs. Mike Ekoko and James Imohiosen were on Thursday, 15th December, 2016, honoured at a Dinner/Award Night organized by the Bayelsa State chapter of the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments, an event that took place at Police Officers Mess, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

In her speech, Mrs. Ebis Damabide of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), who represented the Federal Roads Maintenance Engineer, Engr. Bolaji Ayola, while presenting the award of commendation for meritorious service to the recipients, remarked that the award was based on their satisfactory performances and credible contributions as prudent members towards the achievement of the Association’s goals and objectives.

Earlier, the State Chairman of the Association, Mr. David Diekedie, Centre Manager, Technology Incubation Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, explained that it was on the credible membership of the duo that made the Association to elect NICO South-South Zonal Office as the present General Secretary of the Association.

He further applauded NICO’s membership of the Association, praying that the gracious recognition of the past Zonal Coordinators will energize them and urged them to maintain such characteristic diligence and forthright disposition in the discharge of their future assignments.

NICO South-South Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Nelson Ebi Campbell, who received the awards, on behalf of NICO past heads, appreciated the Association for the thoughtfulness and respect for NICO past heads in the zone.

Recall that Mr. Mike Ekoko, currently Acting Director, Research and Documentation, NICO Headquarters, Abuja, was the Zonal Coordinator of NICO South-South Zonal Office from 2010 to 2012; while Mr. James Imohiosen, currently the Zonal Coordinator of NICO South-West Zonal Office, Akure, Ondo State, was the Zonal Coordinator of the South-South Zone from 2012 to 2015.

Other recipients of awards at the event were former Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, now Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG. Paul Okafor; former Chief Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, Prof. Ebitimitula Etebu, currently the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Bayelsa State; former G.M., NTA Yenagoa, Mr. Tunde Onaduluoye, now GM, NTA Akure; the Coordinator of National  Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Bayelsa State,  Hon. Raymond Ohonba; and one of the founding fathers of Bayelsa State, Chief Benedict Gwembe.
