The 4th National Roundtable of the Nigerian Universities Theatre Arts Festival (NUTAF) will kick-off, Friday, 27th January, 2017, at the Department of Theatre and Mass Communication, University of Benin, Ekenwan Campus, Benin City, Edo State by 5pm.
A letter inviting the Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Assoc. Prof. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, to the Roundtable, signed by the Chairman, NUTAF/NUTASA Board of Trustees and Convener, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, dated 16th January, 2017, disclosed that NUTAF at its 3rd National Roundtable had identified NICO as one of the critical stakeholders to partner; hence, the request for the presence of the NICO ES to facilitate full discussion of the possible areas of collaboration.
Part of the Agenda for the Roundtable will include a Brief from the host of NUTAF 2017; Technical Session on Festival Logistics; Consideration of Proposals for MOUs, and NUTAF 2018.
It is also expected that the NUTAF/NUTASA Board of Trustees, NUTASA members as well as NUTAF Technical Work Group will hold their meetings during the Roundtable event.
It will be recalled that the Nigerian Universities Theatre Arts Festival (NUTAF) was a platform for students of Departments of Theatre/Drama/Performing Arts from various Nigerian Universities to congregate and carry out theatre performances on a competitive scale; but the festival has not been held for over 20years and the current effort is geared towards resuscitating it.
