The National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) is set to organize the 2nd edition of its Quarterly Public Lecture for the year, on the theme, “Promoting Culture, Developing the Economy”.

A press release signed by Caleb Nor, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NICO, Associate Professor Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, states that the NICO Quarterly Public Lecture, which is scheduled to take place on Monday, 10th July, 2017, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja-FCT, is expected to be delivered by the Vice Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu.

The release further states that while the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, will be Special Guest of Honour; the Regional Director, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Mr. Yao Ydo, will be the Chairman on the occasion; and the Chun Mada, Nasarawa State, Chief (Dr.) Samson Gamu Yare, will be the Royal Father of the Day.

It will be recalled that NICO organized the first edition of the Quarterly Public Lecture for the year on 3rd March, in Abuja, which had the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha, as the Distinguished Guest Lecturer.

Just as the NICO Public Lecture series serves as a medium for intellectual discourse on topical issues, as they relate to the culture sector, it is also a veritable platform that has continued to give the Institute’s Training School more visibility that will encourage patronage.
