The staffers of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) Training School, Abuja Study Centre, have congratulated the Executive Secretary, Associate Professor Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, for the approval of the affiliation of the Institute’s Training School with the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).
The Coordinator, NICO Training School, Abuja Study Centre, Dr. (Mrs.) Regina Onuoha, who led the team to the Office of the Executive Secretary, at the Institute’s Headquarter in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, said members of staff of the Abuja Study Centre were extremely happy for the approval.
Describing the ES as a great achiever, Onuoha said: “Sir, we the members of Staff of NICO Training, Abuja Study Centre, have decided to come and visit you to tell you that we are happy and grateful over the affiliation of the NICO Training School with the Nasarawa State University, Keffi. We are proud of you. This is a good elevation for the Training School. It is a great achievement”.
Responding, Prof. Ayakoroma, who said he was happy for the visit, recalled the whole efforts geared towards the affiliation process, giving God the glory for the approval; and he expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammadu Akaro Mainoma and the Principal Officers of the University, the pioneer Head, Department of Theatre & Cultural Studies, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura and the current Head, Hajia Lantana Ahmed, the Management of NICO, and all those who have contributed in one way or the other to the approval of the affiliation.
The ES said: “I can tell you that if you are happy in the NICO Training School, I am happier. Since Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura mentioned it to me, I have been jubilating. I mean it is a great achievement. At least, I am happy that I have really concluded this. It will give those who are doing the programme opportunity to further their post graduate studies at Nasarawa State University, Keffi. They can be admitted into the new Masters, M.Phil and even PhD in Cultural Policy and Management, which have been recently approved. We really give God the glory”.
It will be recalled that NICO submitted the application for the affiliation of its Training School to the Department of Theatre & Cultural Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi; and the recent approval is subject to the provisions of a Memorandum of Understanding between Nasarawa State University, Keffi and the Institute in 2012.
