With the recent approval for the constitution of Governing Boards of federal government agencies and parastatals by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, Yusufu Shittu Galambi is now the new Governing Board Chairman of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO).

According a statement released on Friday, 29th December, 2017, from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the appointment is with immediate effect. There is also the directive for the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, to inaugurate the Board after the letter of appointment is issued.

The statement reads in part “Mr. President considered the approval for the constitution of the Boards as well as the appointments, very necessary, so as to provide a proper governance and oversight structure for government agencies and parastatals. The constitution of the boards with the appointments is a demonstration of this government efforts aimed at building strong institutions of governance, and by extension, improving the quality of policy formulation and supervision”.
