The Inaugural Meeting of the Governing Board of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), earlier scheduled to hold on Thursday, 12th July, 2018, has been rescheduled to hold on Friday, 20th July, 2018.
The meeting is expected to hold in the Board Room at the institute’s head office, located at No. 23, Kigoma Street, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja-FCT and will commence by 11am.
According to the Secretary of the Board, Barrister Musa Kakamba, who is a Deputy Director and Head of Legal Services of the Institute, the meeting will present the opportunity to officially introduce the Chairman and members of the Board as well as address other issues that may relate to the policy direction of the institute.
Recall that in December last year, the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, approved the constitution of Governing Boards of federal government agencies and parastatals where Alhaji Yusufu Shittu Galambi was appointed Chairman of the Governing Board of NICO.
The Board was later inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed on March 2, 2018.
The meeting is expected to have in attendance members of the Board, representatives from the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, and the Federal Ministry of Education. Others are representatives from the National Universities Commission (NUC); the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA); the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS); the Centre for Management Development (CMD); the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC); the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC); and the National Commission for United Nations Education and Scientific Organisation (NATCOMUNESCO).
