The Honourable Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN has called on all stakeholders to collaborate and cooperate with the ministry in the successful implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS).

The Minister made this call on Monday, December 10, 2018 while presenting a keynote address at the maiden Annual Forum of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, 2017-2021 at the Fraser Suites and Hotel, Abuja-FCT.

Represented by the Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Dayo Apata, ESQ, Malami who disclosed that the ministry has the mandate to ensure the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy said the action plan is designed to serve as a guideline and working took for all stakeholders to assist them in developing their own strategy with sector specifications and how best to actualize its full implementation.

He therefore called on all Attorney-General’s of States to key into the scaling down process by activating the adoption and domestication of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy at the sub-national levels.

On his part, Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Dayo Apata, ESQ, who was represented by the  Director, Legal Drafting Department, Federal Ministry of Justice, H.A Tahir, mni, said the forum was organized for the Honourable Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation to officially launch and present the National Anti-Corruption Strategy to the public and also create a forum for exchange of ideas on its successful implementation.

While stressing that the theme of the forum “Enhancing the Implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy” was carefully chosen to ensure focus, Apata expressed deep appreciation to all relevant stakeholders for their support in the implementation of the strategy and encouraged them and indeed Nigerians not to relent in the fight against corruption, saying the battle requires perseverance.

Other dignitaries present at the event were; Special Adviser to the President on Justice Reforms, Mrs. Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu; Chief Registrar, Code of Conduct Bureau, Abdulmalik Shuaibu; Attorney-General, Kogi State, Ibrahim Muhammed (SAN); Commissioner for Justice, Edo State, Professor Yinka Omorogbe; Commissioner for Justice, Imo State, Mr. Lemedin Miletuce; representative of Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (ROLAC), Dr. Oluwatoyin Badejope; and representative of Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Ishaya Yahaya.

The Acting Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) was represented by the Acting Director, Research and Documentation, Mr. Mike Ekoko.
