NICO Schedules Public Lecture in Kano

The National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture has concluded plans to organize a Public Lecture with the theme: “Culture and the Management of Diversity in Nigeria” on Thursday, 7th October, 2021 at the Mambayya House, Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies, Bayero University, Kano State.
NICO has the statutory mandate of effecting a sense of cultural direction for national development and the Public Lecture series is one of its platforms that generate intellectual discourse on culture to sensitize Nigerians on the strategic importance of culture in the promotion and sustenance of good governance; effect a sense of cultural direction in the citizenry; better appreciate the need for Nigerians to embrace our culture, cherish its inherent values; accord it a pride of place in all aspects of our development agenda; and explore the cultural dimension in every sphere of our national life.
Professor Muhammed Sani Abdulkadir, a former Vice Chancellor with the Kogi State University, Anyigba has graciously accepted to be the Guest Lecturer. Other Special Guests of Honour expected at the event are the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency, Dr. Abdulahi Umar Ganduje, OFR; Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Senate Committee Chairman on Culture and Tourism, Senator Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha; and His Royal Highness, the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.
