The Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Mallam Ado Muhammed Yahuza on Friday, October 8, 2021, led some Management Staff of the Institute to the Kano State Emirate Council on a courtesy visit on the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.

The visit came a day after NICO organised its Annual Public Lecture on the Management of Culture and its Diversity in Nigeria, delivered by a Professor of Economic History at the Bayero Universty, Kano and Secretary General, Association of West African Universities, Professor Mohammed Sanni Abdulkadir.

According to the Executive Secretary, the visit was to thank the Emir for sending a representative to attend NICO’s Public Lecture, recently held in Kano and to further brief him on the Institute’s efforts and progress towards the inscription of the Kano Durbar on UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Management Staff in company of the Executive Secretary during the courtesy visit were; Director, Orientation and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Alex Omijie; Director, Research and Documentation, Mr. Michael Ekoko; and Zonal Director, NICO Zonal Office, Katsina State, Barr. Musa Kakamba.
