Mrs. Maria Okpuzor, a Deputy Director and former Head of Research Unit, Department of Research and Documentation at the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) Headquarters in Abuja is now Head of the newly created Special Duties Unit in the Office of the Executive Secretary/CEO.
A letter of posting dated 28th March, 2024 and signed by the Deputy Director, Human Resource Management, Alhaji Ndaman for the Executive Secretary/CEO of NICO, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye states that her schedule of duty will include to act as a linking-pin for all essential projects requiring intra/inter departmental relations; work in consonance with the Executive Secretary in realizing his objectives; coordinate fundamental duties and do special reportorial analysis from time to time for the ES; handle external representation and coordination of external correspondences and any other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Secretary.
Speaking at a special meeting convened on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 to reel out his leadership style to some selected members of staff in his office, the Executive Secretary extoled Mrs. Okpuzor whom he described her posting to the unit to have come highly recommended from both Management and Staff.
According to the ES, she is expected to supervise all staff in his office and crystalize on both external correspondence as well as other internal issues involving the various departments in the Institute.
Responding to her new posting, Mrs. Okpuzor thanked the Executive Secretary for finding her worthy of such elevation and gave the assurance that she will work together with other staff in the office of the ES to form a formidable team that will ensure the successful execution of his vision for the Institute as Chief Executive Officer.
