The Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, has commended Nigerian workers for their unwavering resilience and commitment towards the smooth running of the affairs of government amidst current challenges.

This was contained in a statement from his media office as the nation marks this year’s International Workers’ Day on Wednesday.

The Cultural ICON while encouraging all diligent Nigerian workers to reaffirm their commitment to excellence towards propelling Nigeria forward, said they should recognize that their dedication remains a foundation to the nation’s advancement.

Otunba further urged workers to use the occasion to reflect on how they can put in more efforts towards contributing to a more prosperous and dynamic society.

“I wish to express my admiration for Nigerian workers and as well, acknowledge their indispensable role in the growth of the economy. Their contributions, both in the public and private sectors are integral to the narrative of Nigeria’s progress”, the statement reads in part.

He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his administration’s commitment to improving the living and working conditions of all Nigerian workers, saying the recent approval of a salary increase for workers is a true testament of commitment to his renewed hope agenda.

International Labour Day is celebrated annually on May 1, to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of workers worldwide and advocate for their rights to foster a fair and improved welfare for a sustainable future.
