It was double jubilation for staffers of the Orientation and Cultural Affairs Department at the headquarters of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Abuja, on Wednesday, 12th November, 2014, during an extra-ordinary emergency meeting, when Mrs. Regina Onuoha, Head of Cultural Affairs Unit of the Department, was announced as the pioneer Coordinator of the Abuja Study Centre of NICO Training School.
The announcement was made by the Executive Secretary, Professor Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, when he summoned NICO Staffers to appreciate their support for the public presentation of his new book, Trends in Nollywood, at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, on Monday, 10th November, 2014, which was a huge success.
Reacting to the announcement, in an interview, Mrs. Onuoha, who said she was short of words, thanked the Executive Secretary for finding her worthy of such responsibility, promising to be diligent in the performance of her functions.
She also used the occasion to thank the Director of Orientation and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Alex Omijie, and all her subordinates for the wonderful co-operation during her stay with them in the Unit, in particular, and the department in general.
It would be recalled that the Executive Secretary, Professor Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, had earlier disclosed that the Institute will open a Study Centre in Abuja with effect from the 2014/2015 Academic Session.
