The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) Zonal Office, Osogbo, Osun State on Thursday, January 19, 2017, paid a visit to NICO North Central Zonal Office in Ilorin, with a request for assistance in their research work in Ilorin.
The team led by Mr. Sheu Sulyman Gidado of Admin. & Human Resources Department said their Zonal Office mandated them to come to Ilorin to research on how cultural materials which abound in Ilorin, could best be tapped to contribute to boost internally generated revenue.
In his welcome remark, Zonal Coordinator Mr. Ohi Ojo acknowledged that relationship between National Council for Arts and Culture and National Institute for Cultural Orientation has gone a long way. He equally emphasized that NICO is an intellectual arm of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture having her Training School in Abuja FCT and Lagos State respectively for Cultural Officers and interested candidates in both Diploma and Post Graduate courses in Cultural Administration.
While responding to the Zonal Coordinator’s remark, NCAC team leader promised to communicate the office officially and indicate the possible areas where NICO can come in.
The visiting team who are all indigenes of Kwara State comprises of Mr. Sheu Sulyman Gidado; Higher Executive Officer I (Admin. & Human Resources), Mr. Ahmad Shuaib; Research Officer II (Research & Documentation), Mr. Onide Lukman; Higher Executive Officer II (Corporate & Strategic Planning) and Mr. Ahmad Wakil; Asst. Executive Officer (Account), while the NICO welcoming team included; Mr. Ohi Ojo, the Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Tony Olasinde; Head of Research and Documentation, Mr. Levi Aladeitan; Head of Orientation & Cultural Affairs and Mallam Yusuf M. Dagbo, Personal Assistant to Zonal Coordinator.
