As the North-East Zone of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), on the 18th September, 2012, closed its one-month long vacation Nigerian Indigenous Language Programme (NILP), one of the participants, Mr. Saka Ajide the Camp Commandant, NYSC Adamawa State, has commended NICO for an outstanding achievement in the culture sector, and that his attendance of the programme was very rewarding.
Ajide said that due to the language barrier, communicating with the indigenous people had been a herculean task for him, for nine years as the NYSC Camp Commandant in Adamawa State, but that he had demonstrated maximum confidence after completing the four weeks language programme and promised to personally encourage his staff and corps members to register in the next edition of the programme.
The NYSC Camp Commandant, who communicated his goodwill to the Institute in Hausa, concluded by thanking the representative of the Executive Secretary, Hon. Nelson Campbell, the Director, Adamawa State Council for Arts & Culture, Alhaji Umar B. Michika, the Curator, NCMM, Alhaji Inuwa Babantata, the NICO North East Co-ordinator, Mal. Isma’ila Ahmad, the resource persons, NICO staff and the press for their contributions towards the success of the programme.
